#Multimedia Been Trending For n Years!

8:18 AM

You must have been living under a rock if you are not a multimedia user! :o

Are you living like Patrick Star? Or the exact
opposite?

Multimedia is obviously a huge trend right now and more people are becoming regular users of it every single day. Why, you ask? It’s new, fast, and convenient. We all love getting into things that are new and we like what is instant and easy. Zoom!

It is very popular because it sure does aid us in our daily tasks at school, at work, and even at home. Yep. There’s probably multimedia wherever you turn your head to. It has caused a lot of things to improve and has made our tasks lighter. Some examples are cellphones, projectors, moodle, and…well, there’s a whole lot more!

Yeah, maybe I am the type who likes to express a lot. Hehe
Moreover, it is an expression. It serves as an outlet of people’s thoughts, feelings, and anything else that they want to share. Multimedia, especially the internet, allows everyone to speak freely, just saying whatever they want to. Like literally, whatever they want. Some people use it to praise or even criticize someone or something, some just use it for fun.

It took expressing oneself to a whole new level and it easily allows one to tell stories or maybe just snippets of stories.

Update your status on Facebook, add “feeling annoyed” to it. Share a love song from YouTube and tag the person you like (or not, haha). Tweet about your new pair of shoes! #HappyKid. Upload an old photo of you and your siblings on Instagram #tbt #throwback #ThrowBackThursday :) Blog about your crazy experiences in a summer travel week!

It simply gives an opportunity to speak for those who do not really talk much in person and it does the same with those who speak a LOT in person, allowing their talkativeness to flourish even more. I do not really know if that’s a good thing though. :))

An avatar of myself that I made on an
app called FaceQ from Zander's
phone last week. I tried to make it
"look" like me but..yeah, I have
always thought of dyeing my hair
red, so there =)) just because.

Through multimedia, you can change the way you want yourself to be seen by others. You can actually be a different person online if you choose to, which I personally find really creepy. *Imagine creating avatars that aren’t really close to who you are, all the posers, posting photos that are “scripted” and are products of 99% editing and 1% reality..we might not notice but it’s slowly eating up our real personas, just pure creepy. But anyway, that’s a different story.* A lot of people seem to like that better than the real world though. It clicks because it helps its users escape reality even just for a brief moment. It kills time (sometimes kills more than it should) and sometimes it becomes a hobby habit hobby. People can find a new community wherein they may feel that they actually “belong” for once.

Another thing is that it gives life and more meaning to communication because it makes its range wider. One can connect to old friends, like how I found my kindergarten teachers on Facebook! Haha. And we can also make new friends through it. Somehow, it strengthens our connection with other people. It binds us together. It’s what keeps OFWs in touch with their families and what keeps long distance relationships going. Well, it plays a huge part in a lot of people’s relationships :)

I don’t know what more to say..I guess people are very fond of using multimedia not because they just want to feel like they’re in but also because it seems “normal” to our generation already. It's already part of our lives. I wonder if multimedia will ever stop trending...hm?

(on What makes multimedia click? Why is it such a big trend?)
